This building is located on a site logistically centered within the Town on property dedicated specifically to highway maintenance needs. A Town transfer station is also located adjacent to the building, and the old highway garage remains on the site and serves to house supplemental storage and support functions. Since the site adjoins residential areas, landscape buffers have been installed to soften the impact of this large new building. Overhead doors are limited to two, one for entry and one for exiting. Trucks are parked within the building in two rows served by a single traffic lane. This arrangement minimizes heat loss through overhead doors.
