On over two hundred acres of former farmland, the St. Joseph Spiritual Life Center provides a home for many retired Brothers of Holy Cross. For this, our second project for the brothers, we embarked on a very special design project that was to add 16 additional living units, numerous facility upgrades and common space improvements.

The strength of the existing building’s brick and limestone facades were fitting for its use. However, the design did not take advantage of the scenic, tranquil site. The new addition’s design brought the site "indoors" through extensive and thoughtful placement of glass. The design also brought the residents outdoors. Off a new glass filled Lounge, the Brothers can now relax on the custom teak furniture of their large new deck.
